Cosmetics Chemist

Job Title: Cosmetics Chemist / Formulation Chemist – Personal Care Location: Vasai, Mumbai, Maharashtra Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹1,60,000 per month Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Cosmetics Chemist / Formulation Chemist to develop innovative skincare, haircare, fragrance, and personal care products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for formulation development, product testing, quality compliance, and supporting manufacturing processes from laboratory to production. Key Responsibilities Formulation & Product Development Develop formulations for perfumes, skincare, haircare, and personal care products. Evaluate and select raw materials, fragrances, and active ingredients. Improve product texture, stability, efficacy, and overall performance. Reformulate products for cost optimization and regulatory compliance. Testing & Quality Control Conduct stability, compatibility, and performance testing. Perform pH, viscosity, and other quality analyses. Evaluate packaging compatibility and product shelf-life. Manufacturing & Scale-Up Support scale-up from laboratory batches to commercial production. Prepare manufacturing instructions and process documentation. Troubleshoot formulation and production-related issues. Compliance & Documentation Maintain formulation records and technical documentation. Ensure compliance with cosmetic regulations, GMP, and safety standards. Coordinate with quality assurance and regulatory teams. Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate with production, quality, R&D, and marketing teams. Support new product development and product improvement initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field. Experience in cosmetic or personal care formulation is preferred. Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients and formulation techniques. Preferred Skills Experience in skincare, fragrance, haircare, or personal care formulations. Knowledge of stability studies, quality testing, and analytical methods. Understanding of GMP, cosmetic regulations, and safety standards. Familiarity with laboratory equipment and formulation processes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
