Job Description
About The Role
As a fire technician at Blue Star, you will serve as a critical member of our safety and compliance infrastructure. You will be responsible for the end-to-end maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of sophisticated fire suppression and detection systems. Working within our high-performance environment, you will ensure that all life-safety equipment meets rigorous industry standards and operational excellence benchmarks. You will collaborate with cross-functional facilities teams to implement preventative maintenance schedules and execute emergency repairs, ensuring the physical security and regulatory compliance of all company assets.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and fire suppression equipment.
Troubleshoot complex system malfunctions, identify root causes, and execute precise repairs to restore full functionality.
Execute detailed system programming and configuration updates to ensure alignment with current safety protocols.
Maintain accurate documentation of all service activities, test results, and inventory usage in accordance with organizational standards.
Coordinate with external regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to ensure 100 compliance with fire codes and safety regulations.
Participate in the design and review of fire safety infrastructure upgrades to enhance system reliability and performance.
Conduct emergency response drills and provide technical training to site personnel regarding fire safety equipment operation.
Requirements
4 years of professional experience in fire protection systems maintenance and installation.
Proven expertise in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for fire safety systems.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical mindset for diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults in fire detection hardware.
Excellent communication skills for reporting system status and coordinating with facilities management.
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.
Required Education
High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a formal Fire Protection Technology program or equivalent technical certification is strongly preferred.
