# Electrical Transformer Designer **Job Location:** Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Experience:** 2–3 Years **Salary:** ₹30,000 – ₹50,000 per month **Industry:** Transformer Manufacturing ## Job Summary We are looking for an experienced **Electrical Transformer Designer** with 2–3 years of relevant experience in the transformer manufacturing industry. The candidate will be responsible for transformer electrical design, design calculations, technical documentation, and coordination with production, procurement, mechanical design, and quality teams. Candidates with strong experience in **5–20 MVA transformer design** are encouraged to apply. Experience with transformers up to **50 MVA** will be highly preferred. ## Key Responsibilities * Design electrical parameters for oil-immersed power and distribution transformers. * Perform transformer design calculations for MVA rating, voltage, current, turns ratio, flux density, core, windings, conductor size, losses, impedance, temperature rise, and insulation. * Design HV, LV, and tertiary windings as applicable. * Select appropriate core, conductor, insulation, and winding arrangements. * Prepare and review electrical design drawings, calculation sheets, BOMs, and technical documentation. * Review customer specifications and identify technical requirements. * Coordinate with production, mechanical design, purchase, and quality teams. * Provide technical support and resolve design-related issues during manufacturing. * Review test results and investigate deviations related to design parameters. * Optimize transformer designs based on manufacturing requirements, performance, and cost. * Ensure designs comply with applicable **IS/IEC standards** and customer specifications. * Maintain proper records of calculations, drawings, revisions, and design documentation. ## Transformer Rating Experience * **Up to 5 MVA:** Acceptable * **5–20 MVA:** Preferred * **17–20 MVA:** Highly Preferred * **Up to 50 MVA:** Highly Preferred ## Required Skills * Power & Distribution Transformer Design * Electrical Transformer Calculations * Core & Winding Design * HV/LV Winding Design * Loss & Impedance Calculations * Insulation Coordination * Short-Circuit & Temperature-Rise Considerations * Transformer Testing & Manufacturing * IS/IEC Standards * Technical Drawings & Documentation * MS Excel Knowledge of **AutoCAD, transformer design/calculation software, and ERP/MIS systems** will be an advantage. ## Candidate Requirements * 2–3 years of relevant experience in transformer design/engineering. * Hands-on experience in the transformer manufacturing industry. * Practical knowledge of transformer design calculations. * Ability to independently handle routine transformer design activities. * Good understanding of transformer manufacturing and testing. * Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications. * Good analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills. ## Preferred Experience * Transformer design up to 50 MVA. * 17–20 MVA transformer design experience. * 5 MVA and above transformer design experience. * Experience with different voltage classes. * Transformer design optimization and cost reduction. * Experience with customer-specific transformer specifications. ## Qualification **B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering** Candidates with relevant hands-on transformer design experience will be preferred. ## Salary **₹30,000 – ₹50,000 per month** Salary will be based on experience, technical skills, and transformer design expertise. ## Benefits * Opportunity to work on power and distribution transformer projects. * Exposure to different transformer ratings and voltage classes. * Professional and technically focused work environment. * Career growth opportunities. * Opportunity to work on transformer design optimization projects.
