Lathe Machine Operator

**About The Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled and precision-oriented Lathe Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating manual and CNC lathes to produce high-quality components that meet exact engineering specifications. You will play a critical role in our production workflow, ensuring that all parts are machined with accuracy and efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality control.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Set up, operate, and maintain lathe machines to perform turning, facing, threading, and boring operations.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure precise component fabrication.
• Perform regular machine inspections and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Conduct rigorous quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Collaborate with the production team to optimize machining processes and improve cycle times.
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, shop floor regulations, and environmental standards.
• Document production progress and report any technical discrepancies to the shop floor supervisor immediately.

**Requirements**

• 4 years of professional experience as a Lathe Machine Operator.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
• Strong understanding of metal properties and the impact of different cutting tools on material finish.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-precision production environment.

**Required Education**

• ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification in Turner or Machinist trade, or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
