**About The Role** Our Company is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Fabrication Fitter to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This pivotal role involves the precise assembly and fabrication of metal components and structures, ensuring the highest standards of quality and structural integrity. The Fabrication Fitter will be instrumental in transforming raw materials into finished products, contributing directly to the success of our diverse projects and upholding our commitment to excellence. **Key Responsibilities** * Interpret and work from complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements and sequences. * Measure, cut, shape, and fit metal components using a variety of tools and machinery, including saws, grinders, press brakes, and plasma cutters. * Perform various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, to join metal parts accurately according to specifications and industry standards. * Inspect finished products and assemblies for quality assurance, ensuring strict adherence to design specifications, tolerances, and safety standards. * Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move materials and components. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, strictly adhering to all company safety protocols and occupational health regulations. * Collaborate effectively with engineers, welders, and other production team members to optimize fabrication processes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure project timelines are met. * Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of fabrication tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. **Requirements** * Proven experience as a Fabrication Fitter in a heavy manufacturing, industrial, or construction setting. * Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply information from complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. * Proficiency in various metal fabrication techniques, including layout, cutting, forming, and assembly. * Exceptional attention to detail, precision, and a steadfast commitment to producing high-quality, defect-free work. * Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various positions and environments. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. * Unwavering commitment to workplace safety and strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies. **Required Education** * High School Diploma or GED. * Completion of a recognized Apprenticeship Program or Vocational Training in Fabrication, Welding Technology, or a closely related field. **Skills Required** * **Technical Proficiency** * Advanced blueprint and schematic interpretation. * Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes. * Expertise in operating metal fabrication machinery (e.g., shears, press brakes, plasma cutters, grinders, drills). * Accurate use of precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, protractors, tape measures). * Strong understanding of material properties and metallurgy (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum). * Competence in oxy-fuel and plasma cutting techniques. * **Safety & Quality** * Thorough knowledge of industrial safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. * Proficiency in quality control and inspection techniques for fabricated components and welds. * **General** * Effective communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration. * Basic computer literacy for documentation and job tracking systems. * Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities for fabrication challenges.
